Quartly Mission Giving
Mission of the Quarter GiftBeing part of a Christian community invites more than simply showing up; it means becoming co-owners and co-creators with God. The Kingdom is not about us. The mission of every follower of Jesus was given in Matthew 28:18-20, which tells us to go and make disciples. Each quarter, Blue River Community Church designates 10% of weekly giving, which for this quarter was about $1,200, to support missions and needs within our own Columbia City community. This commitment reflects our belief of Knownig God, Loving Neighbor, Living Justice, Forever. This past quarter, one of our church members came to the board with the simple but impactful idea to use this mission fund to help pay off the outstanding lunch balances of students in WCCS. Thanks to your faithful giving, we were able to not just say yes, but were able to make a big impact. Half of the funds, around $600, went directly to clear existing lunch debts, lifting a burden from families and students across the district. The remaining $600 was given to cover future lunch balances for children whose families may struggle to pay, ensuring no student has to go without a meal due to financial hardship. This act of love and generosity is a direct result of your continued faithfulness in giving. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in Columbia City. Together, we’re feeding both bodies and spirits and making a real difference in the lives of local children and families.
