Signs of New Creation / I AM

Starting January 1st and continuing through Easter Sunday, we’re journeying through the Gospel of John in a 14-week sermon series that reveals who Jesus is and what He came to make new.

Each week we’ll alternate between:


• Signs of New Creation – moments where heaven breaks into earth, and new creation begins. In John’s Gospel, Jesus doesn’t just perform miracles. He gives signs that point to who He is and what He’s restoring. Each sign invites us to see a glimpse of God’s renewing work and the life Jesus offers.


• I AM – the seven “I AM” statements where Jesus reveals His divine identity. Jesus doesn’t just teach—He reveals. Again and again, He speaks the powerful words: “I AM.”

From water into wine to “I am the resurrection and the life,” this series invites us to see Jesus more clearly and step into the new life He offers.

2026 Update

Blue River Community Church is excited to share that Melissa Vazquez has joined the Church Board, with a specific focus on outreach. Read below to learn more about Melissa and her family

Melissa Vazquez is passionate about serving others and living out Jesus’ command to love our neighbors. She continues to look for meaningful ways to connect with and help meet the needs of those in the community. She currently participates in the Wellbeing Alliance through the Whitley County Community Foundation, focusing on mental health advocacy and action for youth and seniors within our area.

She has been married to her husband, Josh for 20 years, and together they are blessed with three wonderful children. Melissa holds an Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene and currently works as a bookkeeper for a niche accounting and financial planning firm that serves dental practice owners.

Outside of work and ministry, she is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, and she has a deep passion for gardening. She is currently pursuing her Master Gardener certification and enjoys growing both her garden and her knowledge whenever she can.
