The Journey of Peter

Prayer is one of the most powerful and personal aspects of the Christian life. It is our direct line of communication with God. A sacred space where we pour out our hearts, seek His will, and find peace in His presence. And yet, for many of us, prayer can often feel mysterious, difficult, or even discouraging. Am I doing it right? Is God listening? What should I say?

In this sermon series titled Prayer, we turn to the Gospel of Luke, and stories that found in no other Gospel. Luke offers a unique window into the heart of Jesus and His teachings on how we engage with God in prayer. Not only how to pray, but why prayer matters, and what kind of heart we must bring into it.

This series is not just about learning to pray better, it’s about seeing God more clearly and drawing near to Him with the kind of faith that transforms us from the inside out. Whether prayer has been a struggle or a strength in your life, this journey through Luke will deepen your understanding of what it means to pray and to be heard.

Quartly Mission Giving
Mission of the Quarter Gift

Being part of a Christian community invites more than simply showing up; it means becoming co-owners and co-creators with God. The Kingdom is not about us. The mission of every follower of Jesus was given in Matthew 28:18-20, which tells us to go and make disciples.

Each quarter, Blue River Community Church designates 10% of weekly giving, which for this quarter was about $1,200, to support missions and needs within our own Columbia City community. This commitment reflects our belief of Knownig God, Loving Neighbor, Living Justice, Forever.

This act of love and generosity is a direct result of your continued faithfulness in giving. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in Columbia City. Together, we’re feeding both bodies and spirits and making a real difference in the lives of local children and families.
