WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING A SUNDAY GATHERING?
Going to church for the first time can be an awkward experience. So that you know, we won’t make you wear a nametag or stand up and introduce yourself. So, to help you visit Blue River Community Church, here are some things to know.
location
Blue River Community Church meets on the 3rd floor (with elevator access) of the Van Buren Center. 301 W Van Buren St, Columbia City, IN 46725.
Parking and entrance
There is free street parking surrounding the building and all around downtown. The entrance is the door on the right, directly next to the welcome flag out front. Just follow the signs to the 3rd floor or take the elevator.
COME AS YOU ARE
We say that, and we mean it. You don't have to dress up. At Blue River Community Church, people wear different things, from shorts to dress pants and t-shirts to button-downs. You don't have to act a certain way. You don't have to pretend that you're someone you're not. At Blue River Community Church, anyone is welcome—no matter what.
GATHERING TIMES
Blue River Community Church service starts at 10:00 and ends around 11:15. After the gathering, people mill around and greet each other or take off and have lunch with one another. You aren't obligated to do either, but we would love to meet you at our Welcome Table.
childcare
Children’s programming is offered during parts of service for Pre-K through Grade 5. Kids will participate in worship until dismissed to meet their teacher at the back of the worship area. We do background checks on our volunteers and have a comprehensive registration system to ensure your children are safe and cared for. Volunteers experience policy and procedure training, receive consistent feedback, and are encouraged through gospel-centered teaching.
